Malai Prawn Curry
Ingredients
For Marination
- 250 gms Prawns Deveined
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt As per taste
For Frying the Prawns
- 4 tbsp Ghee
For Gravy
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 2 Inch Cinnamon sticks
- 2 Cardamon
- 3-4 Cloves
- 3 Dried Red Chillies
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 200 ml Coconut milk Approx
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Curd Optional
- Coriander leaves for garnish
- Salt As per taste
- water or 2nd round of freshly extracted coconut milk
Instructions
How to prepare Malai Prawn Curry
- Marinate Prawns with Salt and Turmeric powder and keep it aside for an hour
- Heat a pan. Add Ghee.
- Add the marinated prawns and fry until it is 3/4th cooked. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in another pan.
- Add all the spices and fry for 2-3 mins until you get the aroma of spices
- Add chopped onions and fry until it is golden brown
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a min
- Add all the powder masala and fry for few mins
- Add the fried prawns in the pan
- Now add 2nd round of extracted milk, then coconut milk. Cook for 2-3 mins OR Add Store brought coconut milk, then add little water to adjust to your curry consistency
- Add curd in the gravy and cook for 2 mins or till the prawns are fully cooked
- Now take it off the heat and Serve hot. Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
