Ingredients
Ingredients To boil Lamb Shanks | Mutton Nalli
- 800-900 gms Mutton Nalli or Leg piece of Mutton or Lamb Shanks
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1.5 cup Water It should cover half of the Lamb shanks quanitity
- Salt As per taste
Ingredients To prepare Mutton Nalli Roast or Roasted Lamb Shanks
- 50 ml Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tbsp Fennel Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Pepper Corns
- 30 pieces Small Onions
- 3-4 strings Curry Leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- Mutton Nalli stock | Lamb Shanks stock full stock from the prepared mutton
- 1.5 tsp Pepper Powder
- Salt As per taste
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions
Instruction to Cook Mutton Leg piece or Lamb Shanks
- Heat a pressure cooker, add the Lamb Shanks or Mutton Nalli
- Add Turmeric Powder in it and mix
- Add Chilli Powder and mix well
- Add Salt and mix well
- Add Water till the Lamb shanks are half covered. Cover and cook till the Lamb Shanks are completely cooked
How to make Mutton Nalli or Lamb Shanks Roast recipe
- Now, Heat a pan and add oil
- Add ghee
- Add Fennel seeds and pepper corns, and fry well
- Now add small onions and fry them till translucent
- Add curry leaves and fry well
- Add Ginger garlic paste, fry till the raw aroma of the paste disappears
- Add Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder and mix well
- Add Salt as required and stir well
- Add the stock from the cooked lamb shanks and mix well. Give it a boil, so that it blends well with the other ingredients
- Add Pepper powder and mix well
- Add Mutton Nalli | Lamb Shanks in the pan and mix well
- Cook well, till the Mutton Nalli | Lamb Shanks becomes a Roast
- Once it becomes a Roast, you can Garnish with Coriander Leaves. Serve Hot.
