Butter Chicken Gravy is delicious North Indian gravy which is prepared with tomato and other ingredients to bring out rich flavor into it.

Ingredients

  • 500 gms Chicken
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 2 tbsp Kitchen King masala
  • 2 tbsp Butter or more if you like it more buttery
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • Salt as per taste

For Gravy Masala

  • 4 medium Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Watermelon seeds
  • 20 gms Cashew nuts
  • 4 Red Chilies dry
  • 6-7 Garlic cloves
  • 2 inch Ginger
  • 4 Cups Water

Instructions

How to prepare Butter Chicken at Home

  • Boil water in a pan.
  • Take all the below ingredients.
  • Chop all the tomatoes as per below before adding it in the boiling water.
  • Add all the ingredients in the water.
  • After 10 mins, check if the ingredients are soft and turn off the fire
  • Now Strain the water and cool all the ingredients and take it in a mixer jar.
  • Make the paste of the blanched ingredients.
  • Add Oil in a Pan.
  • Add sliced Onions in the Pan. 
  • Add ginger garlic paste once the onions turn golden brown.
  • Fry it for 1-2 mins.
  • Add the ground masala in the Pan.
  • Add some water into the masala.
  • Add turmeric powder.  
  • Now add garam masala, jeera powder and coriander powder into the pan.
  • Add Salt as per taste. Add Kitchen king masala and bring it to boil.
  • Add Kitchen king masala and bring it to boil. 
  • Add Chicken into the pan.
  • Mix chicken into the masala and cook for around 10 mins with closed lid.
  • Add butter into the gravy 
  • Now boil the chicken until fully cooked.
  • Add Butter again and a pinch of sugar once the chicken is cooked. 
  • Butter Chicken is now ready to serve. Serve hot with Ghee Rice or Paratha.

Notes

Note: Add more chilies if you want your Butter chicken gravy to be a little spicy.  Also you can garnish with crushed Kasoori Methi
