Ingredients
- 500 gms Elephant Foot Yam | Suran | Senai Kizhangu Cut into small cubes
- 1 1/4 tbsp Oil
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 3/4 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1 small Lime juice
- Salt As per taste
Instructions
How to prepare Elephant Foot Yam recipe | How to prepare Suran ki sabji
- Cut the outer brown layer of Yam
- Now chop it into small cubes
- Heat a pan and add oil
- Add chopped Yam and stir for a minute
- Add Turmeric Powder and mix well
- Add Chilli Powder and give it a good stir. You can add more chilli powder based on your liking
- Add Salt as per taste
- Fry the Yam till it is almost cooked. Frying the Yam on low to medium low flame might take around 15-20 mins
- 3 mins before switching off the flame, add lime juice and mix well
- You will know that the Yam is cooked when it shrinks a little and has changed its color to brown, as seen in the picture. The texture of the Yam will be little crispy, that is when you need to switch off the flame.
- Now your Yam is ready to serve. You can garnish it with chopped coriander leaves
